Record Pin — Account & Data Deletion
This page describes how to request deletion of your
Record Pin account and the data Record Pin holds about
you. It applies to the Record Pin app on Google Play
(com.wharety.recordpinff) and on the App Store.
How to delete your account in the app
- Open the Record Pin app.
- Sign in with your account.
- Tap the Profile tab.
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account.
-
Read the warning and tap Continue, then type
DELETEin the confirmation field and tap Delete. - You will be signed out automatically when the deletion has completed.
Two confirmation steps are required to prevent accidental deletion.
If you cannot sign in or prefer email
If you have lost access to your account, or simply prefer not to use the in-app flow, you can request deletion by email:
- Send a message to recordpin@outlook.com from the email address associated with your Record Pin account.
- Subject:
Account deletion request. - Include the email address or display name used when signing up so we can locate your account.
- Requests will be actioned within 30 days.
Data that is deleted
When your account is deleted — either through the in-app flow or via email request — the following is removed:
- Your Firebase Auth credentials (email, display name, photo URL, sign-in provider linkage, user ID).
- Your user document in Firestore, including Spotify access and refresh tokens cached on the server, saved genres and styles, collection metadata, display name, email, and photo URL.
- Your saved album collection (the
usersAlbumssubcollection). - Your push notification tokens (the
fcm_tokenssubcollection). - On-device data on the device from which you ran deletion: Spotify tokens and the cached album list held in secure storage.
Data that is retained, and for how long
A small amount of pseudonymous technical data is kept by our service providers after account deletion. None of it is personally identifying on its own.
- Firebase Analytics events — pseudonymous event logs auto-deleted by Google after 14 months. Contains device-pseudonymous IDs only.
- Firebase Crashlytics crash reports — pseudonymous install IDs, retained 90 days per Firebase defaults.
- Cloud Function and server logs — retained 30 days per Firebase defaults; may contain your user ID until the logs age out.
Subscription & billing data
Record Pin does not currently offer any paid features or subscriptions. When it does, this section will describe how to cancel a subscription before deleting your account, and how long billing records are retained for tax and legal compliance (typically 7 years under UK and EU accounting rules).
Spotify
Deleting your Record Pin account does not delete your Spotify account or change anything in your Spotify library. Record Pin's cached Spotify tokens are removed as part of deletion, which ends its access. If you would also like to revoke Record Pin from your Spotify account's authorised apps list, visit https://www.spotify.com/account/apps/.
